Kiel, 24th October 2011. The Spanish-based Saba Infraestructuras was on the look-out across the world for a strong partner for the provision of technical equipment and maintenance for its parking management systems - and it has found one in DESIGNA. Saba is one of the larger parking management companies, with over 200 projects throughout Europe.
The framework agreement has been concluded for 3 years and includes the supply, fitting and maintenance of 53 systems, with an option to extend it by a further 2 years. The 53 parking systems concerned involve existing properties only, new operator projects are not yet included. The first stage of the contract will see DESIGNA and its local partners taking over "integral maintenance" of the systems, providing a comprehensive maintenance and servicing package with reaction times between 4 and 24 hours.
"Both technically and financially we were able to present the most convincing overall package," said Mark Müller, Key Account Director at DESIGNA, on the reasons for the contract award. "It was clear to Saba that the future-proof technologies used by DESIGNA work not just on paper, but in practice too."
The cooperation is already bearing early fruit: an initial property in Portugal is about to be commissioned, and in Italy an especially challenging project is entering a busy and important phase. The system, which consists of five networked parking garages in the Franciscan town of Assisi, will be able to recognise three different categories of vehicle and to issue a special bus ticket. A range of further projects will also start this year.
With well over 6,000 installed systems in more than 50 countries, DESIGNA is a worldwide market leader in the field of fully automated parking management systems. Its position amongst the "Top 100" most innovative companies in Germany in 2010 is proof of the fact that the Kiel-based company thinks well ahead in terms of technology.
